is there any mains electricity on site?
Yes there is - what were you thinking of using?

I'd just like to know if we are going to be led to victory by the glorious red army or just shot in the back by the NKVD dogs?
A bit of both. ![]()

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
MP40 would be fine.

Who are you answering Headshot? ![]()
I think he was trying to console you Lardy. MP40 may be fine but it ain't a Mosin. ![]()

Is it possible to downgrade Pete's creation to 350fps easily?

is a tesla coil a form of russian contraception ?
I don't own an MP40. Fingers cross for the Ppsh!. The Mosin can be downgraded but I won't do it. Its not like a 5ft long scoped bolt action is really the best choice for underground tunnels.
As a general point, a 5ft long bolt action is fine for this event. (Not sure a scoped weapon is right for 350fps, I'll concede that
).
Although there are side rooms and some narrow corridors where an SMG might be more convenient, a slung rifle and pistol in hand is just as viable.
The main tunnel roadways are wide, tall and very long. Chaps emptying their AEG magazines are likely to have a very long walk to an ammunition dump and so the measured pace and control of a bolt action user will NOT be at a disadvantage as might be initially presumed...

I still think an M91/30 would be rather too long, they really are huge. A carbine would probably be quite useable though. It would be better if it were an M44 with bayonet.
I have an mp40 if you're still lacking a suitable gun by then
Cheers wildfire but I do have an MP44 I can use if all else failed. I'd hope to have an SKS done by January too. They may not be the most likely but they're not completely unsuitable.
Well, its no consolation but if you think your rifle is too long for this event then it would have been too long for our original planned Russian/German event in November as well!

Well my understand of the site is there would have been more opportunities to set up sniping positions. I don't imagine there is similar cover in the tunnels to allow this to be done.
There definitely is Rich. The main tunnels (or "avenues", to give them their proper name) are HUGE. Easy to pot away down them, then disappear if needed down a side tunnel.

not sure if any 1 posted any photos but friend sent me the link as he has been and loved it there says it realy good ![]()

Just to be clear, the main tunnels are 3/4 of a mile long.....
There were many tunnels where our torchlight didn't reach the end.
The photos above don't represent the entire site as they aren't using it yet. Come January we'll be using the entire site.
This is a fuzzy picture of me standing in one the main tunnels to give you a sense of scale:

We will confirm this in due course - could well be thermobaric only. Quantity etc TBA once we have fine tuned detail.

That sounds similar, Thermobarics in the tunnels? Smoke-tastic? Mind you, 3/4 of a miles worth of main avenue, theres plenty of air to diffuse in.

sniping for you boys will be no problem just lie down in the dark sides of the tunnel and cause mahem ..
pyro .. i was cosidering this this is what we allow now -
tslfx - mk3 (we have lots )
- themos
bfg - firing percution only (buy a regular 9 - .38 blank the ones with paper / plastic on end not the crimped type , then when you get home remove the powder by removing the cap . then dispose of the powder propely . )
i was thinking of getting some taty mashers made up with mk 3 s if any ones intrested . if you have any better surgestions then let us know . one thing i will say is the event runs on our insurance so only tslfx only ..
cheers jamie

Excuse my ignorance - what's a Mk3 ? Is that louder than a Mk5 ? ![]()
